- Abstract
- <p>This layer portrays the claimant count rate per SOA across Belfast for the month of May 2021. The claimant count data has been downloaded from the Northern Ireland Research and statistics Agency Website (<a href="https://www.ninis2.nisra.gov.uk/InteractiveMaps/Labour%20Market/Claimant%20Count%20Monthly%20Averages%20SOA/atlas.html">InstantAtlas™ Report (nisra.gov.uk)</a>. From this data the claimant count rates have been calculated as to standardise the counts across all the Super Output Areas (SOA’s) which makes the claimant counts comparable across SOA sizes and demographics. This has been calculated by dividing the total claimant count (those claiming Jobs seeker’s allowance and in some cases those claiming universal credit) and dividing that amongst the SOA population for working age residents from 16-64 year olds. This produces a rate which has been mapped for the 173 SOA’s. </p>
